Dear Sierra Unified Community,
I am delighted and honored to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of our wonderful school district. As I begin this journey of serving our community, I am filled with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility towards ensuring the success and well-being of our students.
I come to you with a background in education that spans over 20 years, including the last decade in a large district in North Sacramento. As a proud graduate of Fresno State, where I earned both my Bachelor's degree and Doctorate in Educational Leadership, I have a deep-rooted connection to this area. I am committed to leveraging my experience and skills to create a nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.
One of my proudest achievements was creating one of the first dual enrollment programs in Sacramento County, which recently saw five students graduate with an Associate of Arts degree. As a lifelong learner, I continuously seek knowledge, especially in the realm of early literacy. I believe that fostering a love for learning from an early age is crucial for long-term academic success.
I strongly believe in the power of collaboration between schools, families, and the community to support the holistic development of our young learners. My background as a former high school athlete has instilled in me the importance of engagement in various forms, be it academics, sports, or extracurricular activities, to support student success and well-being.
I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you, listening to your insights and ideas, and working together to make our school district the best it can be. My door is always open, and I welcome your feedback, suggestions, and concerns as we embark on this journey together. Please say hello and introduce yourself when you see me out and about. Together, we can create a future full of promise and success for the students we serve.
Thank you all for your warm welcome. I am looking forward to a rewarding and productive partnership with you all.
Warm regards,
Dr. Lori Grace
