Mountain Families,

We, Big Creek, Pine Ridge and Sierra Unified School District, are pulling together our resources, specialties and sheer determination to provide all of you, our family, with some consistency in the midst of great uncertainty and challenge. As of this message we know that a majority of our families are at some status of evacuation.  Information is fluid and we are working with Cal Fire and other local authorities to get the most accurate information possible. You can expect a daily update at 5:00 pm.

We are working together to develop and build a webpage that will contain a 1-stop place for important, updated information regarding official fire status reports, and available resources for our entire mountain community. You can go to Sierra Unified and click on the “Creek Fire” button to get information on resources, where to donate and a form to let us know the status of your family.

Be on the watch in upcoming announcements for how you can support your neighbors and community, including a donation link. We know there are so many real life heroes working right now to help one another in this challenge.

At this time, Cal Fire has noted the fire remains at 0% containment. Cal Fire is still working on verification of structures and official notice to the schools will take time. This is a good webpage link for more information https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2020/9/4/creek-fire/.
