Kindergarten Registration

NOW is the time to schedule an appointment for kindergarten registration at
Foothill Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. A child is eligible for
kindergarten if his or her 5th birthday comes on or before September 1, 2023.
Those children born between September 2 and April 2 are eligible for transitional
kindergarten under separate guidelines which include agreeing to a second year in
kindergarten.
Research has shown that children who wait until the age of 5 to begin
kindergarten will usually have greater success socially, emotionally, and
academically throughout their school years. Allowing your child an extra year of
brain development and maturity will give them a better foundation for learning and
decision making.
Kindergarten registration offers the opportunity for parents and students to
meet our staff of specialists. During this time, the parent may ask questions
regarding kindergarten. The registration process will take approximately one hour.
April 26th and 27th, 2023 have been set aside for registration days and will be
held at the District Office. Please call Margie, Kari, or Heather at 855-3551 to
schedule an appointment.
In order to register, your child must have a legal birth certificate, a current
immunization record, and proof of residency. A child WILL NOT be allowed to
begin school until these documents are in place. Please check with your healthcare
provider if your child is up to date for their immunizations.
